Georgie’s is a family run business owned by Mark and Judy Hackett. The Hackett family has lived in the Grafton areas for 5 generations. Mark and Judy returned to beautiful Grafton to be with family 15 years ago, bringing back the modern style of food they loved in Sydney.
Mark Chef and Owner has had 31 years experience in the hospitality industry spanning from Sydney, Adelaide and London and back to Grafton. Mark has a special passion for fine seafood after spending 3 years with the Flying Squid Brothers selling seafood into the top end restaurants in Sydney. He has cooked at a number of restaurants prior to opening Georgie’s eg. Jets Restaurant (Adelaide), Macleay Street Bistro (Sydney), bills café (Sydney) Nicole Farhi (London).
Judy Owner has had 15 years in the hospitality industry and has a background in retail and office administration. Originally from Adelaide Judy has had a long standing passion for food, ingredients and cook books and is actively involved in developing new menu ideas, in between caring for their young family of three girls on the home front.
Geoff Platt (brother in law) chef extraordinaire has worked in all facets of hospitality from cooking, teaching to owning restaurants. Geoff has a passion for new foods he is always trying something new he has read about and translating it to the plate in the restaurant. Geoff originally from Adelaide met Mark in Sydney at the Flying Squid Brothers later meeting Marks Sister, Annie, and subsequently became part of the family.
Vicki (sister) administration and guest services. Has her hand on the pulse behind the scenes making sure that all is running smoothly. She also pays everyone to keep everyone coming back to work so she is well liked.
Jodie (sister in law) makes a great home made tomato chutney that has featured on the Georgie’s Burger for 12 years. She has won many show prizes for her preserves.
